Millbrook scores in 66th minute to beat Broughton in boys soccer

Millbrook and Broughton played about as even as possible on Monday night, but a late goal by Kayden Hicks lifted the Wildcats to a non-conference victory.

With both teams scoreless, Kayden Hicks took a pass from Jake Ladd and scored the game-winning goal. The goal came in the 66th minute.

Millbrook had to survive several late pushes from Broughton, including a couple corner kicks in the last minute. Millbrook goalkeeper Jayden Young managed the shutout win though.

The shutout was impressive. Broughton had scored 16 goals in its last two games with a 7-3 win over Willow Spring an a 9-1 win over T.C. Roberson. The Capitals were averaging nearly five goals per game entering Monday’s contest with Millbrook.
