Middle Creek WR Braylon Stewart will attend Furman
A wide receiver from Wake County will play at Furman University next year.
Middle Creek High School rising senior Braylon Stewart announced his commitment to the Paladins on Sunday. Furman has a Division I FCS program that competes in the Southern Conference.
Over his recruitment, Stewart received offers from Fort Valley State, New Hampshire, Furman, Cornell, Richmond, Wofford, Mercer, Bucknell, Bryant, Gardner-Webb, Campbell, Charleston Southern, and Austin Peay.
Stewart earned an honorable mention selection to the 2023 HighSchoolOT All-State tea, as a returner. His 2023 stats were 71 receptions for 1,186 yards and 16 touchdowns. He had two kickoff return touchdowns.
He is one of the top returning receivers in 4A.
Middle Creek finished last fall’s season with a 6-5 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference. The Mustangs made the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A East playoffs and lost in the first round on the road at Laney.
