Southern Durham High School defeated Oscar Smith High School from Virginia in the 2024 ECU Beat of the East 7-on-7 tournament championship game.

The Spartans also defeated Millbrook, Carolina Recon A, Northern Nash, and Coconut Creek (FL) en route to the championship game.

Earlier during the event, HighSchoolOT interviewed 12 skill players from the Spartans. These players were instrumental in winning the 7-on-7 tournament.

Rising sophomore defensive back Lance Henderson even received an offer from East Carolina coach Mike Houston during the event. Henderson’s fellow rising sophomore Jonathan Dillon, a wide receiver, was previously offered by the Pirates.
