March Madness: High Point student broadcasters’ call of comeback goes viral :: WRALSportsFan.com

Johnson City, Tenn. — The High Point University men’s basketball team is going to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
The Panthers’ 81-69 win over the Winthrop Eagles in the Big South Conference championship game secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
High Point overcame a 15-point deficit at one point during Sunday’s game. High Point senior guard Bobby Pettiford was the game’s leading scorer with 17 points.
Former WRAL sports anchor Ken Medlin teaches broadcast journalism at High Point University. Medlin posted on the social media platform X about two of his sports media students who are going viral for their radio call of the game.
“These guys paid their own way there, and the investment is bringing in big returns,” Medlin wrote. “Across platforms, they’re closing in on 1 million views!”
The students, Griffin Wright and Jimmy Rosselli, posted the clip of their broadcast on TikTok. Their broadcast came during a 24-2 run for High Point during the team’s comeback win.
