Maiden boys roll past Bandys to set up marquee matchup with Lincolnton

MAIDEN, N.C. – Maiden and its high-octane offense is pulling into Lincolnton on Friday with an unblemished record in the Catawba Valley Conference.

The Blue Devils, who average over 90 points per game in league play, ran past Bandys 94-70 on the strength of five players finished in double figures.

Raheim Misher and Zion White got the offense going with 12 combined points in a 21-11 opening frame.

Lincoln Frasure and Landen Lyerly dominated the second to put things out of reach. Frasure started the second with a dunk and ended it with a buzzer-beating three. He and Lyerly each canned a pair of shots from downtown in the period.

Maiden had its pace established and comfortably led 43-27 at the half.

A 29-point third quarter saw Frasure, White, Lyerly, Misher, and Carson Bess all drop in multiple baskets. The five scored 27 points in the frame to lead 72-48 through three.

The fourth quarter saw Tae Maze hit a pair of three-point baskets to finish with 7. Frasure led all scorers with 21 while Lyerly dropped in 19.

White scored 15, Misher added 13, and Bess pitched in with 10. Bandys was led in scoring by Easton Ledford’s 19. Tyler Leatherman, Evan Robinson, Dominic Robinson, and Landon Vaughan also finished in double figures for the Trojans.

Maiden is now 12-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the conference. The Blue Devils enter Friday’s matchup at Lincolnton tied with the Wolves atop the standings.

Bandys dropped to 10-4 (3-2) following the loss. On Friday, the Trojans host West Caldwell.
