The final spring sports to have playoff brackets set will know their fate by Friday afternoon.

The N.C. High School Athletic Association is scheduled to release the official brackets for the boys & girls lacrosse playoffs and the girls soccer playoffs on Friday.

Leading up to the release of the brackets, get a sneak preview of where your team could land in our HSOT Playoff Projections.

NCHSAA staff will begin working on the brackets on Friday morning using official conference standings reported by each conference president and updated RPI rankings from MaxPreps.

At some point, likely late morning or early afternoon, the NCHSAA will release preliminary playoff brackets. These brackets are not final and could change.

Preliminary brackets are released to give schools an opportunity to check for errors and report them to the NCHSAA. It is possible there could be multiple versions of preliminary brackets if any errors are found.

The NCHSAA will set a deadline for schools to report errors. After the deadline passes, the NCHSAA will release a final version.

First round girls soccer games are scheduled for Monday, May 12. First round lacrosse games are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13. All rounds through the reginoal championships will be played at the higher seed.

Girls soccer state championships will be played at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex in Matthews on May 30-31.

The lacrosse state championships will also be played on May 30-31, but will be held at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
