Jayda Angel, an All-State player from Cape Fear High School, has officially announced her commitment to play basketball at Elon University.
Jayda Angel, a talented athlete in both basketball and another sport at Cape Fear High School, has made a commitment to join the basketball team at Elon University. She shared her decision on social media this past weekend.
In addition to Appalachian State, UNC-Greensboro, Charlotte, East Carolina, and Coppin State, Angel also received offers for basketball.
The student in their final year of high school has been recognized as a HighSchoolOT All-State athlete in both basketball and soccer. They were also selected as a nominee for Female Athlete of the Year and Girls Basketball Player of the Year at the 2023 HSOT Honors ceremony.
Angel has accumulated a total of 1,769 points throughout her time playing basketball. Along with this, she has recorded more than 500 rebounds and 400 steals during her career. On the soccer field, Angel has scored a total of 84 goals in her two seasons playing for the varsity team. It is likely that these numbers will increase significantly during the upcoming winter and spring seasons.
Cape Fear’s girls basketball team ended the previous season with a 25-5 record, but they were defeated by Rocky Mount in the 3A East regional final.
