Inclement weather on Friday due to Hurricane Francine means some schools are changing their plans for high school football games.

On Tuesday, some teams began moving their games up one day to Thursday in an attempt to get away from the worst of the weather, which is expected to impact the western part of North Carolina on Friday.

Showers are possible across the state on Friday, but most of the significant rain is forecast to fall in west. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 60% chance of rain on Friday night in Asheville, a 50% chance in Boone, and a 50% chance in Charlotte.

Chances are lower the further east you go. In Raleigh, Fayetteville and Wilmington, the chance of precipitation is 30% on Friday night. They are significantly lower in the northeast part of the state.
