HSOT’s end-of-regular season boys basketball rankings have been updated, and Green Level has climbed up to No. 9 on the list.

The latest boys’ basketball rankings for the end of the regular season have been announced by HighSchoolOT. They include a top 25 for the entire state and top 15 rankings for each of North Carolina’s six area codes. These rankings will be the final ones until the N.C. High School Athletic Association declares its state champions.

The Green Level Gators have achieved a ranking of 9th in the state, having completed the regular season with an impressive 24-0 record. Despite facing challenges, the team has consistently come out on top, even during their less-than-perfect performances. They have also managed to secure eight victories by a narrow margin. Additionally, the Gators have successfully navigated through the highly competitive RPI SWAC Conference without suffering any losses.

Additionally, it should be mentioned that in the overall rankings for the state, Lake Norman dropped from 10th place to 18th place following a close defeat to their cross-town rival, Mooresville.

Half of the state’s area codes, specifically the 336, 704, and 910, are home to 17 of the top 25 teams.

Several changes have occurred in the area codes, largely as a result of losses by certain teams from the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association during ongoing playoffs.

Here are some key points regarding our boys’ basketball rankings:

  • The rankings are revised every week and made public on Mondays.

  • The top 25 schools in North Carolina, except for athletic training academies, are qualified for the state-wide ranking.

  • The state’s top 15 is divided into six separate area codes, with weekly updates.

  • The N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs cause a halt in rankings.

  • The rankings are finalized and published the following week after the state championships.
