Green Bay Packers
Philadelphia Eagles
PEA | Friday, September 6th 8:15 PM EDT

— The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers have a primetime showcase Friday night for their 2024 NFL season opener. The two teams in green will meet in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the NFL’s first regular season game to be held in South America.

Both teams have promising young quarterbacks with something to prove.

Philadelphia’s Jaylen Hurts led his team to the Super Bowl in just his second season, but the Birds stumbled down the stretch last season to finish 11-6. Hurts will have offensive help with the addition of running back Saquan Barkley, acquired in the offseason from the Giants.

Green Bay’s Jordan Love is in just his second season as a full-time starter and hoping to build on a 9-8 record from 2023.

It is the Packers’ second international game. They played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in 2022.

While hometown fans will be able to watch the game (8:15 p.m. Friday) on NBC, the game will be available only on streaming service Peacock outside of Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Why is the Eagles-Green Bay game only on Peacock?

WRAL has received lots of questions about why NBC‘s coverage will only be on Peacock and not also on local affiliates like WRAL. Peacock (NBCUniversal) has the exclusive rights to the game, and it is available free and over-the-air only in the local markets of the teams involved.

You can log in to watch the game by downloading the Peacock app on your TV or streaming device. Plans start at $7.99/month or $79.99/year.
