The turnovers have been a recurring issue for the team and have greatly affected their chances of winning games. Today’s game against the Detroit Lions felt similar to their first game against the Atlanta Falcons, where they also had three turnovers that led to points for the opposing team. If not for these turnovers, the game could have been much closer. This highlights the need for the Panthers to hold onto possession and limit turnovers in order to have a chance at winning games.

On the defensive side, the Panthers have been dealing with numerous injuries, including four starters being out for this game. This has greatly impacted their performance, particularly in run defense. The first drive of the game saw the Lions easily score a touchdown within a minute and 17 seconds, indicating that it was not going to be a good day for the Panthers’ defense. While it can be argued that the defense was put in difficult situations due to the turnovers, they still need to step up and make plays in order to give the team a chance at winning. The injuries have also exposed the lack of depth on the team, which will need to be addressed in the off-season.

One positive note is that Chandler Zavala, who was carted off during the game, was discharged from the hospital and will be flying back with the team. However, his injury highlights the need for depth on the offensive line. It is clear that the Panthers do not have adequate replacements for their starters, which will need to be addressed in the off-season. Despite the challenges, the team will need to keep pushing and “keep pounding” as they prepare for their next game against the Miami Dolphins.
