For the first time, HighSchoolOT is releasing All-Region Football Teams. These will complement our All-State Football Team, which just reached its fifth edition.

The All-Region teams, which are only for HSOT Insiders, use our existing area code region format. We divide our regional team rankings and watch lists by the state’s six area codes: the 252, 336, 704, 828, 910, and 919.

The following is our All-Region Team for the 828 area code.

An All-State Football Team features 250 player selections. Our All-Region teams feature half of that number — 125 players. In total, 750 players will be named as All-Region selections.

The 125 players are made up of 45 offensive players, 45 defensive players, and 35 specialists/honorable mention selections. The offensive and defensive sections are divided into a first, second, and third team, like they are for our All-State teams. Unlike the All-State teams, the All-Region team does not have a section for two-way players. Instead, what a player contributed on the opposite side of the ball boosts his standing on the side of the ball we’ve selected him for.
