The Wake County girls flag football season will kick off on Saturday with games scheduled at two main locations throughout the day.

Athens Drive High School and Green Level High School will be hosting the initial weekend of the competition. Athens Drive will have three fields, while Green Level will have two fields.

The games will start at 9 in the morning at both venues, with the final games starting at 2 in the afternoon.

The second round of competitions will occur on Saturday, February 3rd, at Middle Creek High School and Rolesville High School.

On February 10th, teams will be seeded into a playoff bracket for SupHer Bowl Saturday at Athens Drive based on their performance in their respective pools.

Athens Drive High School | Jan. 27

FIELD 1

• The time is 9:00 AM and the location is Apex at Athens Drive.

• At 10:00 AM, there will be a game between Broughton and Middle Creek.

• 11:00 in the morning, Millbrook will be playing against Apex.

• 12:00 PM – Knightdale @ Broughton

• 1:00 PM – The game between Millbrook and Athens Drive will start at 1:00 PM.

• At 2:00 PM, there will be a game between Knightdale and Middle Creek.

FIELD 2

• 9:00 AM – The match between Fuquay-Varina and Millbrook will take place at 9:00 AM.

• At 10:00 in the morning, it will be Panther Creek playing against Knightdale.

• 11:00 in the morning – Athens Drive at Fuquay-Varina

• 12:00 PM – Middle Creek @ Panther Creek

• 1:00 PM – Apex at Fuquay-Varina

• At 2:00 PM, there will be a game between Broughton and Panther Creek.

FIELD 3

• 9:00 AM – Rolesville @ Cardinal Gibbons

• The game between Panther Creek and Knightdale will take place at 10:00 AM.

• The East Wake vs. Rolesville game will take place at 11:00 AM.

• At noon – Heritage High School vs. Cardinal Gibbons High School

• At 1:00 PM, the East Wake team will be playing against Cardinal Gibbons.

• At 2 PM on Saturday, the Rolesville High School team will compete against Heritage High School.

Green Level High School | Jan. 27

FIELD 1

• 9:00 AM – Holly Springs playing against Green Level

• 10:00 AM – Wakefield @ Willow Spring

• 11:00 AM – Holly Springs vs. South Garner

• At noon, Sanderson will be at Wakefield.

• At 1:00 PM, there will be a game between South Garner and Green Level.

• 2:00 PM – Sanderson at Willow Spring

FIELD 2

• At 9:00 AM, Enloe will be playing against South Garner.

• “10:00 in the morning – Sanderson High School hosts Southeast Raleigh in a game.”

• 12:00 PM – The game between Willow Spring and Southeast Raleigh will take place at noon.

• The game between Holly Springs and Enloe will start at 1:00 PM.

This year, Wake County Schools introduced a girls flag football program, funded by a $50,000 grant from the Carolina Panthers. The district is now joining Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and Union counties in providing this sport. New Hanover County will also join in the near future.
