After a few days of waiting, we officially know the start of the Carolina Hurricanes second round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Washington Capitals.

The NHL announced late Saturday night the two Metropolitan Division rivals will play game one of the best-of-seven series on Tuesday at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.

Here’s the full schedule:

Game 1 at Washington – Tuesday, May 6, 7 p.m.

Game 2 at Washington – Thursday, May 8, 7 p.m.

Game 3 at Carolina – Saturday, May 10, TBD

Game 4 at Carolina – Monday, May 12, TBD

Game 5 at Washington (if necessary) – Thursday, May 15, TBD

Game 6 at Carolina (if necessary) – Saturday, May 17, TBD

Game 7 at Washington (if necessary) – Monday, May 19, TBD

The Hurricanes advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after beating the New Jersey Devils in five games in the first round, while the Capitals beat the Montreal Canadiens in five games.

Washington finished the regular season with the highest point total in the eastern conference. They’ll host game one and two of the series before the Hurricanes return to Raleigh to host game three and four.

In four meetings this season the Hurricanes beat the Capitals twice, lost once in regulation and lost once in an overtime shootout.
