Combine Participants from North Carolina

Multiple potential first round picks lead the North Carolina names. Edge defenders Jalon Walker and James Pearce, both from the 704, have been long projected to be selected within the top 20 picks of the first round.

Running back Omarion Hampton is a potential first round pick and big names in NFL media have especially begun to champion him as of late. The Cleveland High prospect will have a lot people watching his drills and times.

Reagan alum Shavon Revel was destined to become a first round pick prior to the late-season tear of his ACL while at East Carolina. He won’t be able to test, but he’ll be in Indy to go through the other important parts of the process.

Here are the former high school football players from North Carolina at the event, in order of where they rank in NFL Mock Draft Database’s Consensus Big Board.

Even though they have low rankings on the consensus big board, the NFL is clearly high on Torricelli Simpkins III, Jahvaree Ritzie, Payton Page, Power Echols, and Bryson Nesbit, or they wouldn’t have been invited to the combine.

Note: If I’m missing any players, please let me know at [email protected]. My eyes might have failed me during my scan of the invite list.
