Grace Christian pitcher Camron Seagraves named Gatorade NC Player of the Year in baseball

Grace Christian School of Sanford is home to the 2024 Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year.

Senior right-handed pitcher Camron Seagraves was named the winner of the award on Monday morning.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Campbell baseball signee is ranked the No. 160 prospect in the country from the Class of 2024 by Perfect Game. He helped Grace Christian to a 20-7 record and won the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A state championship.

Seagraves was 8-2 on the mound, including one no-hitter. He struck out 127 batters in 65.1 innings pitched. Opponents batted just .116 against Seagraves while he compiled a 1.71 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP and a 1.12 FIP.

At the plate, Seagraves batted .333 with 23 runs scored and seven steals. He was also selected to the NCISAA All-State Team.

Outside of baseball, Seagraves holds a 4.3 weighted grade point average. He is a member of the Beta Club, and led teammates and classmates on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

Seagraves has also volunteered his time with orphanages, a senior housing center, churches, and neighborhood cleanups. He also used his baseball experience to coordinate a baseball camp that donated equipment to children in need.

Seagraves is the first Gatorade North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year to be chosen from Grace Christian School.
