Freshman Akedran Crumel from Clayton has received his first offer from the Big 12 conference.

A newcomer playing defense for Clayton High School has received their initial offer from a Power 5 team.

Akedran Crumel announced on his X account that he was offered a position at West Virginia University on Friday.

The freshman, known as AK Crumel, measures 6 feet and 1 inch and weighs 170 pounds. It has been reported that he can run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.

A student from the graduating class of 2027 was offered admission to Troy University on Wednesday.

Crumel participated in Clayton’s varsity team during his first year. Throughout 13 games, he was recognized for making 15 tackles, two tackles that resulted in a loss, and seven successful pass breakups.

In the 2023 season, Clayton ended with a 10-3 record but lost to Cardinal Gibbons in the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A East playoffs.
