Football state championship game matchups, schedule set
The schedule and matchups are set for the 2024 N.C. High School Athletic Association football state championship games.
The four state championship games will be split across two days on Dec. 20 and Dec. 21. Two games will be played at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill and two games will be played at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.
On Friday, Dec. 20, the 4A state championship game will open the weekend at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
Three games will be played on Saturday, beginning with the 3A state championship at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh at 11 a.m. The 1A state championship will follow at 3 p.m., also at Carter-Finley Stadium.
The 2A state championship will wrap up the day on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
Kenan Memorial Stadium has hosted more football state championships than any other venue. This year, Kenan Stadium will host its 83rd and 84th NCHSAA football state championship games. Carter-Finley Stadium will host its 35th and 36th championship games this fall.
On Monday, Dec. 16, Carter-Finley Stadium will be the host of the NCHSAA Pre-Championship Press Conference. The event will include all participating head coaches and will begin at 10 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 21
- 11:00 AM – 3A State Championship @ Carter-Finley Stadium
- (1) Seventy-First vs. (8) West Charlotte
- 3:30 PM – 1A State Championship @ Carter-Finley Stadium
- (1) Tarboro vs. (5) Corvian Community
- 6:30 PM – 2A State Championship @ Kenan Stadium
- (1) Northeastern vs. (3) Monroe
