First preseason girls wrestling rankings have Jack Britt on top

There were final girls wrestling team-tournament rankings last year, but no preseason rankings. With it being the first year as a sanctioned sport, it was hard to have an idea of who would be among the best in the state.

Not this year. Jack Britt begins the girls wrestling season ranked No. 1 in the HighSchoolOT rankings, returning three state placers from last year’s championships.

The rankings at the end of the season are the same as the championship meet, with some added tiebreakers, if needed. You can see the all previous final HSOT rankings and all-state teams here.

A watch list of top athletes is available for HSOT Insiders.

The rankings will be updated again at the midseason (first week of January), the end of the regular season, and after the postseason.
