‘Feeling good’, Frederik Andersen back on the ice today :: WRALSportsFan.com

Good news seems to be on the horizon for the Carolina Hurricanes when it comes to goaltending. Frederik Andersen was back on the ice today after suffering an undisclosed injury in Game 4 versus the New Jersey Devils this past Sunday. He was a full participant in the 45 minute practice.
“You never want to leave a game in the middle of a playoff series,” Andersen said. “Obviously we were still able to close out the win there, happy about that, but it sucks not being able to be out there.”
Devils forward Timo Meier collided with Andersen in the second period of Game 4. Andersen was replaced by Pyotr Kochetkov in Game 5 on Tuesday, where the Canes were able to wrap up the series in a 5-4 Double OT win.
Head coach Rod Brind’Amour hasn’t made a decision on if Andersen or Kochetkov would start in goal in Game 1. The NHL has yet to announce dates or times for the Stanley Cup Playoffs second round series between the Hurricanes and Capitals, so Andersen gets to heal and rest until then.
“It was a good step today,” Andersen said. “I’m happy to be back out there with the guys. I feel good.”
