East Forsyth 4-star QB Bryce Baker to make college decision Saturday after speaking with Belichick
East Forsyth High School quarterback Bryce Baker will make his college decision public on Saturday, according to his Instagram Story.
Baker posted on Instagram that he will announce his commitment on Saturday, but it’s not clear if there is a specific time for the announcement.
In 2023, Baker committed to North Carolina. However, after Mack Brown was removed as the head coach, Baker declined to sign with the Tar Heels earlier this month. Baker spoke with new UNC coach Bill Belichick on Thursday.
A member of the Class of 2025, Baker stands at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. He is a four-star quarterback who is ranked the No. 13 quarterback in his class, according to 247Sports.com.
Baker, who is considered a pro-style quarterback, completed 228-of-305 passes for 3,523 yards and 40 touchdowns with five interceptions in 14 games this past season. He also rushed for 303 yards and six touchdowns on 72 carries.
East Forsyth posted a 13-1 overall record this fall, winning the Central Piedmont 4A Conference title and advancing to the fourth round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state playoffs where it lost to reigning state champion Weddington, 37-21.
In his high school career, Baker recorded 6,605 passing yards with 79 touchdowns and 535 rushing yards with nine touchdowns. He was named to the HighSchoolOT All-State Team as a junior.
Baker also plays basketball for the Eagles. Last year, he became a 1,000-point scorer in his high school career. Last year, Baker was an all-district selection by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association.
Aside from UNC, Baker has many other offers to consider, including Appalachian State, Boston College, Duke, Florida, James Madison, Louisville, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
