Duke University has extended an offer to Braylon Peebles, a sophomore defensive back at Cardinal Gibbons High School.

On Tuesday evening, Peebles announced the news on his X account.

This is the fourth offer in total and the first one from a school within his state for the 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete in the class of 2026. The University of Louisville was the first to offer on Dec. 5, followed by Southern Methodist University on Dec. 8 and a verbal offer from Virginia Tech on Dec. 13.

During the autumn season, Peebles achieved an astounding 169 total tackles. This impressive count encompasses five tackles resulting in a loss and one sack. Additionally, Peebles successfully intercepted three passes, disrupted eight passes, caused three fumbles, and recovered five fumbles. As a sophomore, he also scored touchdowns through a punt return, fumble return, and interception return. In the previous 2022 season, as a freshman, he recorded 33 total tackles.

In 2023, Cardinal Gibbons had a final record of 12 wins and 3 losses, placing second in the 4A East region.
