The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Missouri Tigers in the third game of the Columbia Super Regional, 4-3, to send the Blue Devils to the Women’s College World Series.

This is the Blue Devils’ first appearance in the WCWS. Duke nearly reached the WCWS in 2023 but lost to the Stanford Cardinal in two games.

After entering the final frame tied at 0, D’Auna Jennings drilled a baseball deep to right field to give the Blue Devils the lead in the top of the ninth inning.

Amiah Burgess, Kelly Torres and Ana Gold each tacked on a run in the inning to make it 4-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth.

The Tigers did not go down quietly. After getting two runners in scoring position, Abby Hay homered to right center field, making it 4-3 with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

Despite giving up the three-run shot, the Blue Devils stayed calm and secured the final two outs to move on to Oklahoma City.
