D’Nas White, a defensive lineman from Jay M. Robinson, commits to playing for Florida State.
One of the best defensive linemen from North Carolina will compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference, but not for a local university.
D’Nas White, a defensive lineman at Jay M. Robinson High School, revealed his choice to commit to Florida State on Wednesday, also known as National Signing Day for the Class of 2024.
Before making his announcement, White had reduced his options to three universities: Florida State, Miami, and Tennessee.
White is 6 feet and 6 inches tall and weighs 310 pounds. On3.com rates him as a three-star recruit and the 22nd best prospect in North Carolina for the senior class. He is also ranked as the 63rd best defensive lineman in the country on the website.
ESPN ranks White as the 13th best player in North Carolina and the 26th best defensive lineman.
White had an impressive performance in eight matches this year, accumulating 40 tackles in total. Out of those, nine were for a loss and six resulted in sacks. Additionally, he also achieved four quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two passes defended, and even blocked a field goal.
White assisted Robinson in achieving a 12-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 record in the South Piedmont 3A Conference. The Bulldogs made it to the third round of the state playoffs but were defeated by Dudley with a final score of 50-28.
Besides being recruited by Florida State, White was also offered scholarships from Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.
Apart from playing football, White is also a member of the Robinson basketball team.
