Tarik Cohen, a native of Bunn, may soon be promoted to the Carolina Panthers’ 53-man roster. If and when this happens, it will mark the end of three years of hardship and difficulty for him.

Cohen recently made an appearance on the newly launched ‘Panthers Playbook’ podcast, discussing his return to the football field. In 2020, he suffered a torn ACL while playing for the Chicago Bears.

Cohen expressed that he lost motivation and halted all activities, including playing football.

“I had officially entered retirement. Mentally, I had already retired.”

In addition, two of his siblings passed away within a short time period. Later, Cohen suffered a torn Achilles while exercising on Instagram Live.

Cohen expressed that he allowed his pain and suffering to run its course before seeing improvement in his physical and emotional well-being. Once he noticed progress, he felt motivated to get back into shape and contribute to a team.

In September, the Carolina Panthers made public their decision to add Cohen to their practice team. Cohen stated that he is nearing his return to peak physical condition after being away from playing football for three years.

Cohen expressed strong assurance in his current position, stating he is eager to return to the spotlight.
