Cardinal Gibbons takes No. 1 in final girls lacrosse rankings for the 2024 season

Cardinal Gibbons is the No. 1 team in this year’s final HighSchoolOT girls lacrosse rankings. The Crusaders won their third straight N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state championship.

Joining the Crusaders as state champions in the final top 25 were N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association D1 champion Charlotte Latin at No. 3, NCHSAA 1A/2A/3A champ Union Pines at No. 8, and NCISAA D2 champ Forsyth Country Day at No. 24.

In total, 20 teams in the preseason top 25 also made it in the final 25, with Union Pines the highest of those who began the year unranked. Gibbons was also the preseason No. 1 team, going wire-to-wire for the second year in a row. Six teams from the preseason top 10 also finished in the final top 10.
