Cannon School defeats Covenant Day in their first league game of the season, securing a victory.

On Wednesday evening, Cannon School, which is ranked 12th in the state according to HighSchoolOT’s top 25, dominated their conference opener against Covenant Day by taking advantage of turnovers and winning with a score of 73-63.

The Cougars (16-6, 1-0) were ahead 37-17 during halftime against the visiting Lions (11-6, 0-1), who were strengthened by senior Michael Marcus Jr., a 6-foot-9, 255-pound recruit for Appalachian State.

Austin Swartz, a senior at Cannon and a recruit from Miami (Fla.), scored 35 points in the victory. Isaiah Henry contributed 17 points and Lincoln Vinson had 11.
