By the Numbers: Key team defensive stats from the 2024 state finalists

By the Numbers: Key team defensive stats from the 2024 state finalists

Here are the key team defensive numbers from all eight of the 2024 N.C. High School Athletic Association state finalists.

All of these numbers are dependent on teams posting accurate game stats to MaxPreps or sending accurate stats to us directly. We need stats to be posted or shared by opponents to do the yards per game and yards per attempt categories, as well as the passing efficiency stats. We need a team’s own stats to calculate the sacks, interceptions, and forced fumbles averages.

Keep in mind the following sample sizes that we have for each team’s calculations:

  • Grimsley – Full game sample size is 15 games; missing no stats
  • Rolesville – Full game sample size is 14 games; missing stats from Wakefield
  • West Charlotte – Full game sample size is nine games; missing stats from Palisades, Mallard Creek, Harding, Chambers, and West Rowan
  • Seventy-First – Full game sample size is 14 games; missing stats from Rocky Mount
  • Monroe – Full game sample size is 11 games; missing stats from Central Davidson, West Stanly, and T.W. Andrews
  • Northeastern – Full game sample size is 12 games; missing stats from First Flight, Greene Central, and Whiteville
  • Corvian Community – Full game sample size is 10 games; missing stats from Ballantyne Ridge, Garinger, Elkin, Mitchell, and Eastern Randolph
  • Tarboro – Full game sample size is nine games; missing stats from SouthWest Edgecombe, Gates County, Weldon, Warren County, and Wilson Prep
