Boys Lacrosse Rankings: Weddington, Northern Guilford join, Marvin Ridge rises
There are two new teams in this week’s relatively steady HighSchoolOT statewide boys lacrosse rankings.
The top 10 was unchanged from a week ago, while Marvin Ridge moved up from 18th to 12th and Holly Springs fell from 11th to 14th and Topsail (after an upset loss to unranked Laney) fell from 13th to 22nd. Ardrey Kell was also on the move, jumping from 19th to 16th.
Northern Guilford, winners of five straight after a 3-3 start, is in at No. 23 while Weddington, which has spent the last five weeks unranked, joins after a win streak of its own. Weddington’s nonconference schedule has been brutal: all six losses have come to teams ranked in the top 13.
Rankings reminders:
- Rankings are updated weekly and released on every Sunday
- All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
- Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
- Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
