Bill Belichick’s first North Carolina team will start practice in early March.
The Tar Heels’ spring practice begins March 4 and will conclude on April 12. The team is scheduled to practice three days a week for five weeks.
“Come watch us get ready,” North Carolina football general manager Michael Lombardi said in a social media post announcing the spring schedule.
But a UNC spokesperson said the practice will not be open to the public.

Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion as head coach of the NFL’s New England Patriots, was hired in December to coach the Tar Heels. It is his first college job. UNC signed him to a five-year, $50-million contract with the first three years guaranteed. He replaced Mack Brown, the all-time winningest coach at UNC, who was fired.
UNC has added nearly four dozen new players to the roster since the end of last season. UNC opens its 2025 season against TCU in Chapel Hill. The game was moved to Sept. 1, Labor Day night.
