Baseball Statewide Top 25: East Forsyth, Marvin Ridge, Leesville Road, and Grimsley join this week’s poll; Charlotte Christian back into Top 10

Four Top-10 teams suffered losses last week including the first of the year for Ashley, Metrolina Christian, and Whiteville. East Forsyth, Marvin Ridge, Leesville Road, and Grimsley all picked up key wins last week to make its way into this week’s poll. At one point, the Mavericks were as high as No. 15 in the rankings and the Pride made it up to as high as No. 20 a few weeks back.

T.C. Roberson, Grace Christian, and D.H. Conley continue to pick up big wins to hold down the top three spots. In a loaded 704 region, 15-2 Burns holds the top spot. The Bulldogs, who have been to consecutive 2A state title series, have only two losses this year– a 2-1 loss to T.C. Roberson and a 7-6 loss in extra innings to Tuscola.

Charlotte Christian used its big win over Metrolina Christian to vault back into the Top 10. The Knights are one spot behind Charlotte Catholic who won the head-to-head 6-5 on March 12.
