App State has received a commitment from wide receiver Franklin Baret Jr. from Wake Forest High School.
Franklin Baret Jr., a wide receiver at Wake Forest High School, has made a commitment to play for Appalachian State University.
On Monday evening, he shared his decision on his X profile.
Baret Jr. attracted the attention of colleges thanks to his 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame and reported 40-yard dash time in the 4.3 seconds range. He also held offers from Fayetteville State, Ohio University, Miami (OH), Stony Brook, James Madison, Old Dominion, Elon, Wofford, NC A&T, Toledo, NC Central, Bethune-Cookman, Jackson State, and Kent State.
The fast wide receiver had 37 receptions for 802 yards and 10 touchdowns during his final season in the autumn. Wake Forest had a 7-5 overall record and reached the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A state playoffs.
Baret Jr., as a junior, received 10 passes for a total of 196 yards.
