After 23 years of coaching at Glenn High School, Antwon Stevenson will transfer his expertise to a different school.

Glenn has confirmed that Stevenson has stepped down from his position as the head coach of the football team. He took on the role of head coach for Glenn in 2015.

During Stevenson’s tenure, Glenn excelled with exceptional performance. In his second year (2016), Glenn ended with an overall record of 8-4. The following year (2017), the Bobcats had a record of 10-2. In 2018, Glenn finished with a record of 6-7 but still progressed to the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A West playoffs. In 2019, Glenn had a record of 9-5 and made it to the third round of the state playoffs. Despite the shortened pandemic season, Glenn managed a record of 5-2. In 2021, the Bobcats completed the season with an overall record of 9-3 and reached the second round of playoffs.

Glenn’s record in the past two seasons has been 3-7. Due to the school choice open enrollment program, the Bobcats have said goodbye to several important players who transferred to other Forsyth County schools.

On Thursday afternoon, the Bobcats’ sports department issued the following statement.

The Glenn High School Athletics Department expresses gratitude to Coach Antwon Stevenson for his many years of dedicated service to our school. He has devoted his entire 23-year coaching career to Glenn and has played a significant role in many of our sports programs. Although we will miss him, we extend our best wishes for success in all his future pursuits.

On Monday evening, it will be announced that Stevenson has been selected as the new head football coach for a team in the Triad region.
