Corinth Holders senior Alayna Gaddy

Comfortable with a glove, ball, and bat in hand.

Gaddy expressed that being on the field with loved ones provides a sense of security and calmness, especially when the world is chaotic.

Despite graduating this year, she will have the opportunity to stay at home for a bit longer. Gaddy has committed to playing softball for Jacksonville University during her college years.

Gaddy expressed that playing Division I softball has always been her aspiration and she was willing to go wherever it took her, following God’s guidance. She found a sense of belonging in Jacksonville.

She has made a significant impact during her time at Corinth Holders High School, despite only attending for two years.

She is a member of the National Math Honor Society in the classroom.

“Honors Algebra III is a highly demanding course,” remarked Elizabeth Hearn, the math teacher. “Though she did not refrain from expressing her concerns, I will admit that, being a high school student,” she added with a chuckle.

She desired to understand the reasoning behind it and also achieve high grades.

She actively participates in her community, taking part in programs such as Circle of Friends and even attending the Special Olympics last year. Gaddy also initiated the first girls’ Bible study at Corinth Holders and is deeply devoted to her faith.

According to varsity softball head coach Nella Chamblee, her faith is unmistakable in the way she lives her life.

The amount of concern she has for her coaches and teachers is evident. She shows care for her actions and those in her environment.

The assistant principal, Chris Howell, expressed that while softball and high school are important, getting to know this person would be a wonderful experience for everyone.

Chamblee mentioned that she is the kind of individual who will make an effort to bond with every member of the team, ultimately resulting in a stronger and more cohesive team dynamic.

Peyton Jenkins, newly hired at Corinth Holders, serves as both the head JV softball coach and assistant varsity coach. Over the course of two years, she has formed a strong bond with Gaddy. Jenkins admires the senior’s level of maturity and determination to assist others.

Jenkins stated that the individual in question possesses a deep sense of self-confidence and is motivated to share that with others. She desires for others to also experience this inner strength and to discover it within themselves.
