910 Football Rankings: Best high school football teams in Fayetteville, Wilmington, NC Sandhills

HighSchoolOT has released its preseason football rankings for the 910 area code early to HSOT Insiders.

HSOT has two sets of rankings: a statewide Top 25 and top 15s for each of North Carolina’s six area codes.

Our 910 area code region consists of these counties: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Harnett, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland

Seventy-First High School is the clear leader out of the 910 area code. Last year, the Falcons finished one touchdown short of a 3A state championship victory. Senior quarterback DeAndre Nance threw for 1,639 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 1,691 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior. Junior Jayson Franklin picked up an SEC offer after his 1,460 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. Donavan Fredrick could be the state’s best two-way player. As a junior, he produced 175 total tackles (10.9/game) and 48 tackles for a loss on defense to go with his 1,634 yards and ten touchdowns as a rusher.

Pinecrest High is the top 4A team in the rankings. The Patriots return nine starters on offense with five more on defense. The JV team was excellent with a 9-0 record. Running back Zymire Spencer could have a huge senior season after rushing for 1,446 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. 6-foot-5 senior receiver Elijah Melton is a unique weapon who had 50 receptions for 703 yards and four touchdowns.

No. 3 Jacksonville, which plays with mostly 252 teams in the Big Carolina 3A/4A Conference, is expected to have a huge year. The Cardinals are led by running back Demon June, who just picked up an offer from North Carolina.
