6 NC juniors ranked among the top 34 national prospects by On3

Recruiting service on On3 has released its updated national rankings for the class of 2026.

In the new On300, six athletes from North Carolina are ranked among the top 34 prospects. Three are ranked in the top 19 and could be in line to receive a fifth star from the outlet.

As a whole, the top 300 national rankings include 13 juniors from North Carolina.

Notably, Grimsley star quarterback Faizon Brandon slipped from No. 6 to No. 28 despite having an incredibly efficient junior season. So far, Brandon has completed 80.4% of his passing attempts and has a TD:INT ratio of 15:1.

Notes on the latest On300 for 2026

  • West Forsyth offensive lineman P.J. Dean is the new top junior prospect in North Carolina, according to On3. Dean is ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the country. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound prospect made a big jump up from No. 22.
  • Reidsville superstar tight end Kendre Harrison slipped from No. 11 to No. 17 in the new update. He is the most dominant individual player in North Carolina.
  • Myers Park 6-foot-4 edge rusher Rodney Dunham increased his standing from No. 26 to No. 19. If he stays in this area, he will be a 5-star prospect for On3.
  • Weddington’s Aiden Harris is now ranked as the No. 32 prospect after being slotted at No. 40 last time.
  • East Forsyth 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle J.B. Shabazz flew up the rankings to No. 34 in the country. He was previously ranked at No. 345. Shabazz started his high school career at Oak Grove in Davidson County before transferring to East Forsyth in the offseason.
  • Samari Matthews, a cornerback from Hough High, fell to No. 79 from No. 49 despite almost completely locking down his opposition this season.
  • Recent Texas A&M commit Trashawn Ruffin of North Duplin has landed at No. 108 in the new On3 rankings. He was previously No. 219.
  • Providence Day interior offensive lineman Leo Delaney is now ranked No. 121 in the country by On3. In the previous update, he was No. 111. Delaney is 6-foot-5, 275-pounds and plays both ways.
  • Rolesville 6-foot-6 edge rusher Zavion Griffin-Haynes stayed pretty static at No. 136 in the rankings.
  • On3 knocked offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko of South Garner down to No. 176 after previously having him at No. 39.
  • Andrew Harris, twin brother of Aiden, had a nice jump from No. 233 to No. 216. He is a bit smaller than his brother, but he causes an equal amount of issues for opposing offenses.
  • Clayton’s Keshawn Stancil, a defensive lineman, slipped from No. 253 to No. 274.
