San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Ricky Pearsall is currently recovering in the hospital Saturday following a shooting during an attempted robbery in Union Square, San Francisco.

Police responded to a reported shooting at approximately 3:37 p.m. near Geary Street and Grant Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found two men with injuries.

Pearsall was identified as one of the individuals with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The incident involved a fight between the suspect and Pearsall, resulting in injuries to both parties. Both were taken to the hospital.

The 49ers have issued a statement confirming that Pearsall is in serious but stable condition. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family,” the team said.

The suspect is in custody, and charges are pending.
