3 NC football players make 247Sports’ initial top 100 prospects for the class of 2027
247Sports has released its initial top 100 football player rankings for the class of 2027.
Three players from North Carolina made the list. One is from Providence Day School in Charlotte and the other two are from Rolesville High School. The two schools happen to be the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the HighSchoolOT Statewide Top 25.
Providence Day’s Griff Galloway is the top player from the Tar Heel State’s 2027 class, according to 247. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman sits at No. 46 in the country. He is the son of University of North Carolina assistant head coach/passing game coordinator Lonnie Galloway. Galloway is the fourth member of Providence Day’s 2024 team to be ranked in a recruiting service’s top 100 prospects nationally. The other three are rising senior David Sanders and rising juniors Kendre Harrison/Leo Delaney.
Rolesville defensive back Marquis Bryant is ranked No. 81 on the list. He had a big season as a freshman on Rolesville’s varsity team as he made 53 stops, a sack, an interception, and a forced fumble. He is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds.
New Rolesville running back Amir Brown is slotted at No. 87. Brown is new to Rolesville. He played his freshman season at Cardinal Gibbons before transferring to Millbrook during the spring semester. He arrived at Rolesville in the summer. He is listed at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds. At Gibbons last fall, Brown had 472 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
All three players have been given a 4-star designation by 247.
