2024 NCHSAA spring sports calendar

Recently, North Carolina has experienced spring-like conditions, prompting high schools throughout the state to make preparations for the start of spring sports.

Starting on Wednesday, schools are permitted to hold practices and tryouts for spring sports. However, official competitions for these sports are not allowed until February 26th.

The N.C. High School Athletic Association approves nine sports during the spring, which is the highest number for any season. These sports include boys golf, boys tennis, boys and girls track, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer, softball, and baseball.

The spring athletic season will continue until June 1st.

The start of the spring sports season marks the start of a period of inactivity for sports that are not currently in season. This period lasts from February 14th to March 5th.

The 2024 NCHSAA Boys Golf Schedule

  • The Regional Championships will take place on May 6th and 7th.

  • The State Championships will take place on May 13-14.
