Sampdoria is a professional soccer team based in Genoa, Italy. They currently compete in the top tier of Italian soccer, known as Serie A. The team’s colors are blue and white, and they are often referred to as the Blucerchiati. Sampdoria plays their home matches at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, located in Genoa. Interestingly, their biggest local rival, Genoa, also plays their home games at the same stadium.

Previously, Sampdoria alternated between playing in Serie B and Serie A. However, after achieving significant victories in the late 1980s, the club established itself as a consistent presence in Serie A. In 1991, Sampdoria won the Scudetto once, and they also secured the Coppa Italia four times in 1985, 1988, 1989, and 1994. They also claimed the Europe Cup II title in 1990.
