Swansea City AFC is a Welsh football club from Swansea and is currently playing in the English Premier League. The biggest rival Swansea City is Cardiff City which is next to Swansea City the only football club from Wales that played in the PremierLeague.

Swansea City was founded in 1912 under the name ‘Swansea Town’. The first venue where Swansea City played was The Vetch Field. The club grew in members and fans and on 23th of July 2005 Swansea City opened the Liberty Stadium which holds a capacity of 21 000 supporters. The fans of Swansea City prefer to use the non-commercial name: White Rock Stadium.

In the history of Swansea City the club managed to win the Football League One twice and the Welsh Cup 10 times. So far the Welsh club didn’t win any prizes in the highest English divisions. Known players that wore the Swansea jersey are Lampard, Toshack, Martinez and Bony.
