Our prediction for this Primera Division match:

Sevilla

Sevilla

Girona

Girona

Fallen Andalusian giants will look to record their first win of the season when they take on Girona in an eagerly-awaited Primera Division game. Los Sevillanos played out a boring goalless draw with Mallorca on Tuesday and, as a result, boss Garcia Pimienta should opt to make changes to the starting XI. Summer recruit Saul Niguez is banned for the match, while all Marcao, Jesus Navas, and Isaac Romero are pushing for a start. Nemanja Gudelj is a major doubt after limping off with injury against los Bermellones.

The Catalans, on the other hand, rolled over Osasuna 4-0 on Thursday evening to climb to seventh place in the standings. Girona, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing more than one point from the “Pizjuan” showdown. As for the away team, Yangel Herrera has joined the likes of Jastin Garcia and Ricard Artero in the recovery room.

Highlighted Player (Marcos Acuña):

Marcos Acuña

Marcos Acuna is an Argentina international who plays for Sporting Club de Portugal as a winger. Born in Zapala, Argentina on October 28, 1991, Acuna started his senior career at Ferro Carril Oeste. After scoring 5 goals in 117 appearances for the Argentine club from 2010 to 2014, he moved to Racing Club in the summer of 2014.

The 172-cm-tall footballer looked sharper in front of goal during his spell with la Academia, scoring 16 goals in 78 appearances for the club. In June 2017 Marcos Acuna decided to take a step forward in his career, joining Portuguese outfit Sporting CP. He made his debut with the Lions in a 2-0 win over Deportivo Aves on August 6, 2017.

Acuna plays for the Argentine national team as well, making his debut for la Albiceleste on November 15, 2016 in a World Cup qualifier against Colombia. His main position is left-back, but he is used as both left midfielder and left winger as well.

Highlighted Team (Girona):

Girona

After several unsuccessful attempts, finally secured promotion to Primera Division at the end of the 2016/2017 season. The Catalan outfit finished the campaign in second place in the standings, 14 points behind Levante and only two clear of third-placed Getafe. Girona play their home games at Montilivi and the capacity of the venue is 9.286.

Speaking of the club history, Girona were founded in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona on July 23, 1930 and they played their first official game against Colonia Artigas. A number of Spanish coaches were in charge of the team in the past, but it has to be noted that Uruguayan tactician Dagoberto Moll (1965/1966) and Karoly Plattko (1948/1949) of Hungary were in charge of the club as well.

The Catalan team wear white shirts with red stripes when playing at home, while the colour of their shorts is blue. The team’s away kits are blue and black and Sporting Gijon are considered one of Girona’s fiercest rivals.
