Seattle Sounders vs Vancouver Whitecaps Prediction & Betting Tips | 21/04/2024 | Football

Our prediction for this MLS match:

Seattle Sounders

Seattle Sounders

Vancouver Whitecaps

Vancouver Whitecaps

Following a goalless draw with FC Dallas, Seattle Sounders will be aiming to return to winning ways in MLS when they face Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday morning. Seattle are eyeing their only second win of the process and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against the Canadian outfit. Fit-again midfielder Joao Pedro is pushing for a rare start, while all Pedro De la Vega, Braudilio Rodrigues, and Reed Baker-Whiting continue to miss out with injuries.

Vancouver, meanwhile, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to LA Galaxy, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. Greg Vanney is likely to shuffle his pack, with both Pedro Vite and Sam Adekugbe pushing for recalls to the starting XI. Winger Fafa Picault should be fit for Sunday’s encounter despite limping off with injury in the last league fixture.

Highlighted Player (Albert Rusnak):

Albert Rusnak

Born in Vyskov, Czech Republic on July 7, 1994, Slovakia international Albert Rusnak began his youth career in KAC Kosice. In 1997 he moved to MFK Kosice where he was talent-spotted by Manchester City scouts. However, he did not see any game action for the Citizens in the Premier League as he was immediately loaned to Oldham City.

After making only two appearances for the Latics, the Slovak moved to Birmingham City in 2014. After ending his loan spell with Cambuur, Albert Rusnak moved to FC Groningen in 2015 and it has to be noted that he scored nine goals in 61 appearances for the Dutch club in the Eredivisie.

In the winter of 2017 Rusnak joined MLS club Real Salt Lake for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of his international career, Albert Rusnak made his debut with the Slovakia national team on November 15, 2016 in a goalless draw with Austria. His father, also called Albert Rusnak, used to play football as well.

Highlighted Team (Vancouver Whitecaps):

Vancouver Whitecaps

Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs. However, star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy proved to be a big catch for the Whitecaps in the knockout round. Vancouver, though, did remarkably well to win the Canadian Championship in 2015, with the team beating Montreal Impact in the title game.

In 2016 they made it to the final of the tournament as well, but Toronto FC eventually won the trophy. The Whitecaps are owned by Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo, Jeff Mallett and Steve Steve Nash, the former NBA star, and they play their home matches at BC Place. Speaking of MLS games, the capacity of the venue is 22.120 and you should know that the stadium was opened back in 1983. The Caps wear white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue.
