Our forecast for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations game:
Equatorial Guinea
Guinea
The Africa Cup of Nations last 16 match between Equatorial Guinea and Guinea at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara is expected to be quite explosive. Equatorial Guinea, also known as Los Elefantes, has been performing exceptionally well in the tournament, defeating both Guinea Bissau (4-2) and Ivory Coast (4-0), and drawing with Nigeria. One player to watch out for in the home team is veteran Emilio Nsue, who has already scored five goals in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Good news for coach Juan Micha is that Alcoyano midfielder Pablo Ganet has recovered from his injury.
Kaba Diawara’s team, however, is looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat against Senegal. The visiting team is expected to focus on their defense in Sunday’s match, but stopping Emilio Nsue and his teammates from scoring will be a challenge. Francois Kamano has returned from suspension, but Getafe midfielder Ilaix Moriba is likely to be absent due to injury.
The game will take place on January 28th, 2024 at 6:00 PM.
Prediction:
2-1
