Our forecast for this Championship game:
Notable Player (Josh Windass):
John Windass was born on January 9, 1994 in Hull, England and is currently a football player for Wigan Athletic. He was developed through the Huddersfield Town youth academy, but did not compete for the team at a professional level.
The midfielder, who stands at 175 cm tall, started playing professionally for Accrington Stanley. After scoring 22 goals in 77 league games for the team, he transferred to Glasgow Rangers in the summer of 2016. Two years later, Josh Windass joined Wigan Athletic and has been a member of the DW Stadium squad ever since. He scored his initial goal in the Championship on September 18, 2018 during a 2-1 victory against Hull City.
His primary role is as an attacking midfielder, however he also plays as a central midfielder and second striker. It is worth mentioning that Josh’s father is former football player Dean Windass, who played for professional teams such as Hull City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, and Bradford City.
The team in focus (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull City performed exceptionally well in the 2015/2016 Championship season, earning them a promotion back to the English Premier League. While Hull City fans view Leeds United as their primary rivals, they also consider Sheffield United to be fierce opponents. In 2012, Steve Bruce became the head coach of the club and his expertise played a crucial role in securing a spot in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final. However, Hull City ultimately fell short against Arsenal in the title match.
In the 2013/2014 Premier League season, Hull City placed 16th overall, their best performance in the top division. It should be mentioned that Curtis Davies was selected as the team’s player of the year for that season.
