Highlighted Team (Swansea):

Swansea

Swansea City AFC, a soccer team from Swansea, Wales, currently competes in the English Premier League. Their main rival is Cardiff City, the only other Welsh team to have played in the Premier League.

In 1912, the team known as Swansea Town was established. The initial location for Swansea City’s matches was The Vetch Field. Over time, the club gained more members and supporters and on July 23, 2005, they inaugurated the Liberty Stadium, which can hold up to 21,000 fans. The supporters of Swansea City commonly refer to the stadium as White Rock Stadium rather than its commercial name.

Swansea City has a successful history, having won the Football League One championship twice and the Welsh Cup 10 times. However, the club has yet to receive any awards in the top English leagues. Some notable players who have played for Swansea include Lampard, Toshack, Martinez, and Bony.
