Celta de Vigo, a football club based in Vigo, Galicia, was established in 1923 through a merger of Real Club Fortuna de Vigo and Real Vigo Sporting. They were a dominant team in the Primera Division from 1997 to 2003. Their most notable achievement was reaching the knock out stage of the Champions League in the 2003/2004 season, but unfortunately, they were relegated to the Segunda Division in that same season.
The Celta de Vigo football team plays their home matches at the Estadio Balaidos stadium, which has a capacity of 31,800 seats. The team’s colors are baby blue and white. They are also referred to as “Celtinas” and their main rival is Deportivo la Coruna, based in the same region as Celta de Vigo.
