Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:

Olympiacos

Olympiacos

Fiorentina

Fiorentina

OPAP Arena in Athens will be the centre of attention when Olympiacos and Fiorentina lock horns in the Conference League final. Last time out Fiorentina were beaten by West Ham United in the title game and, no doubt, the Italians are eager to lift the silverware on Thursday evening. Vincenzo Italiano should have a full squad to choose from except for Riccardo Sottil, who remains in the recovery room.

The Thrylos, on the other hand, set up a meeting with Fiorentina by shocking Aston Villa in the semis. As the title game will be played in their homeland, we predict that Olympiacos are going to claim yet another major scalp. As for the nominal hosts, the likes of Biancone, Fadiga, Leidner, and Ortega have been struggling with injuries of late. It has to be noted that the two clubs meet for the first time in the Europa Conference League.

Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):

Christian Kouame

Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.

The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.

His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.

Highlighted Team (Olympiacos):

Olympiacos

Olympiakos are regarded as one of the biggest club in Greece. The Thrylos were founded back in 1925 and they play their home games at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus. The capacity of the stadium is 33 296. In 2016 Olympiakos won their 43rd Greek Superleague trophy and it has to be noted that they clinched their sixth consecutive domestic title.

However, the club’s biggest success came in 1999 as they participated in the Champions League quarter-finals. The Red and whites were beaten by Juventus in the two-legged tie. It is well known that Panathinaikos are considered the club’s bitterest rivals and the two teams share a great and long-standing rivalry.

The likes of AEK and PAOK are regarded as Olympiakos’ fierce opponents as well. The likes of Javier Saviola, Kevin Mirallas, Darko Kovacevic, Lomana LuaLua, Joel Campbell, Rivaldo and Marko Pantelic are notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Olympiakos fans are friends with Red Star Belgrade supporters.
