Our prediction for this Championship match:

Millwall

Millwall

Cardiff

Cardiff

Buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 win over Leicester City, Millwall will be aiming to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon. The Lions desperately needed a win against the Foxes and they managed to get one, with the team putting an end to their four-game winless run in the English second tier. Millwall are safe for now, but they can’t afford any complacency in the remainder of the season. George Honeyman limped off with injury in the midweek triumph, with Romain Esse likely to step up.

The Bluebirds aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Birmingham City, but beating Millwall in London is easier said than done. You should know that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of the previous three meetings between the two sides in the English second tier. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team, but Duncan Watmore should sneak into the starting XI.

Highlighted Player (Duncan Watmore):

Duncan Watmore

Duncan Watmore is an English footballer who started his youth career at the famous Manchester United football academy. The 175-cm-tall winger then joined Altrincham at the age of 16 and he continued playing for the lower-league club at senior level.

After scoring 15 goals in 48 appearances for the club in the league, Watmore moved to Sunderland in 2013, but it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Clitheroe and Curzon Ashton on loan as well during his spell with Altrincham.

During the 2014/2015 season he played 9 games for the Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, but he returned to Sunderland at the end of the campaign. Duncan Watmore has 13 caps for the England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut with the senior team. His main position is winger, but he is capable of producing fine performances as centre-forward as well.

Highlighted Team (Cardiff):

Cardiff

Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.

The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.

The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.

The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
