All eyes will be on Stade Velodrome when Olympique Marseille and Lille square off against each other in the Coupe de France last 16. OM are on a three-game winning run in all competitions and their performance in a 2-1 win over Rennes is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of Tuesday’s French Cup game. A man to watch in the home team will be Mason Greenwood, who scored against Rennes and recorded an assist, while all Blanco, Carboni, Kondogbia, Moumbagna, and Wahi have been struggling with injuries of late.

Les Dogues, on the other hand, failed to impress in a goalless draw with Auxerre and given Marseille’s fine form in 2025, home win should be considered. Edon Zhegrova’s injury is yet another reason why we are going to place our bets on Roberto De Zerbi’s troops this time out. Experienced right-back Thomas Meunier is widely expected to return to Lille’s starting XI.

Amine Harit

Amine Harit is a French-born Moroccan footballer, who plays for Schalke 04 in Bundesliga. Born in Pontoise (France) on June 18, 1997, Harit began his youth career in the suburbs of Paris, learning the football basics with Argentuil C.O.

After spending four years at Esperance Paris 19eme, the attacking midfielder moved to famous French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, he quickly returned to Esperance Paris 19eme and in 2011 he joined fellow French club Red Star. One year later he moved to Nantes, where he ended his youth career.

Amine Harit continued playing for les Canaris at senior level and after scoring one goal in 30 league games for Nantes, he signed a contract with Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Harit made two appearances for France U21 team, but he represents Morocco at senior level. The attacking midfielder, who is used as a winger as well, made his Morocco debut on October 7, 2017 against Gabon in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.

Lille have been playing an important role in French football ever since they were founded in 1944. Les Dogues won their first domestic trophy in the 1945/1946 season.

Lille did well to win their second Ligue 1 title in 1954 and 57 years later they lifted their last domestic title. Les Douges finished the 2010/2011 season in top position in the standings, eight points clear of second-placed Olympique Marseille and it has to be noted that Lille attacker Moussa Sow won the Golden Boot (25 goals).

Lille are one of the two teams that managed to win three consecutive Coupe de France trophies (1946, 1947, 1948), but they have yet to clinch the Coupe de la Ligue title. Les Dogues faced PSG in the 2015/2016 Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but les Parisiens proved to be a big catch for Frederic Antonetti’s team in the title game.

Lille play their home matches at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and the capacity of the stadium is 50.186. The venue was opened in August, 2017 and the construction cost €282 million.
